A scalable armor platform for users who want more coverage than a plate carrier without sacrificing mobility. The Scalable Operator Vest (SOV) delivers adaptable protection and performance in high-threat environments. Designed with scalability and modularity at its core, the SOV allows users to tailor your loadout to mission-specific needs—maximizing both mobility and operational efficiency.
The SOV features a fully modular winged design that helps increase protective coverage around the torso while maintaining freedom of movement when paired with soft armor inserts (sold separately). These integrated wings work seamlessly with the overlap cummerbund to provide extended coverage without compromising flexibility or movement. The vest supports a wide array of load-bearing accessories including general-purpose pouches, communication gear, and magazine pockets via FirstSpear’s lightweight, durable 6/12™ laser-cut platform.

When choosing a plate carrier, start by determining the appropriate plate size, then select a carrier that matches that size for the front and back. To find the correct plate size:
- Width: Measure the width of your chest, focusing on the area that requires coverage while in a shooting stance. The plate should provide sufficient protection without restricting movement or interfering with your shooter’s stance.
- Height: Measure from the notch of your sternum to your belly button, then subtract approximately 2 inches to determine the ideal plate height. The plate should offer protection without limiting your ability to sit, stand, crouch, etc.
S/M fits standard SAPI Small (8.75"x11.75"), SAPI Medium (9.5"x12.5"), 8"x10" Plates or 10"x12" Plates.
L/XL fits standard SAPI Large (10.25"x13.25"), XL (11"x14") or 11"x14" Plates

Overlap Cummerbund Sizing Guide
To determine the best cummerbund size, measure around your waist approximately 2 inches above your belly button. Use this abdominal measurement to select the appropriate size from the chart below. If you are between sizes, choose the larger size.
For the best fit, choose the size that provides the most adjustability up and down within its range to accommodate layering or changes in gear setup.
